This category recognises excellence in the creation of multiplatform/social media support for radio programmes – i.e. services that are designed to enrich and extend the listening experience.
Entries are invited from publishers and producers of radio station websites, services delivered to mobile (via text, mms, wap or web), DAB digital radio data services including DLS 'scrolling text', or services on other platforms.
Judges will be seeking to reward entries that make effective use of their chosen medium and enhance the listener's experience. This may extend to supporting a programme or event during transmission, or pre/post broadcast.
Please note: Services must be directly related to radio station output.
To be considered for this award, please complete the entry form and submit the following:
- 4 hard copies (in 4 separate and clearly labelled envelopes) of a micro-site, data CD, video DVD or printed information demonstrating the multiplatform activity. This may include screenshots, details or a demonstration of the service. DVDs should not exceed ten minutes in duration. This should be posted to The Radio Academy at 3rd Floor, 55 New Oxford Street, London WC1A 1BS, to reach us no later than Friday 10th February 2012.
- If the service will still be active during the judging period (February to March 2012), please also include instructions on how to access these services.
Please note: To evaluate online content, judges will have access to a Windows or Mac computer with broadband internet access. Judges may not be able to install additional software.
- ONE MP3 (up to 55MB) of supporting audio to be submitted online, containing as-broadcast evidence of the radio output relating to the multiplatform activity. This may be edited for time, and may be a compilation of programming output. Audio must not exceed 15 minutes in duration.
If your audio is a compilation, please supply a running order for the judges’ information.
Additional audio material such as specially recorded voice links or introductions is not permitted.
