The Radio Academy Reveals 2012 Awards Committee
The Radio Academy has announced details of the new Committee for the Sony Radio Academy Awards 2012.
Next year will mark the 30th anniversary of the Sony Radio Academy Awards, and of Sony’s support, and will be the first year that The Radio Academy has organised the Awards.
Committee members are drawn from across the UK radio industry and will work closely with The Radio Academy to shape the 2012 event.
Chairing the Committee is The Radio Academy CEO John Myers. He is joined by: Steve Ackerman (MD, Somethin’ Else), Lewis Carnie (Head of Programmes, BBC Radio 2 & 6 Music), Ben Cooper (Acting Controller, BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra), Moz Dee (Programme Director, TalkSPORT), Clive Dickens (COO, Absolute Radio), David Holdsworth (Controller, BBC English Regions), Adrian Northover-Smith (Head of Corporate Public Affairs, Sony Europe), Richard Park (Co-Founder, Group Executive Director & Director of Broadcasting, Global Radio), John Simons (Group Programme Director, GMG Radio), Gary Stein (Station & Programme Director, Key 103), Mark Story (Consultant, RadioStory), Adrian Van Klaveren (Controller, BBC Radio 5 live and 5 live sports extra) and Gwyneth Williams (Controller, BBC Radio 4).
Radio Academy CEO and Committee Chairman, John Myers, said: “I am delighted that so many of the very best people in the industry have agreed to commit significant time and effort into the management of these awards. The Sony Radio Academy Awards are the most prestigious accolades in the UK radio industry’s calendar, and the only event that brings the entire sector together to celebrate outstanding content and creativity.
The 2012 Sony Radio Academy Awards will take place on Monday 14th May at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.
