What the Judges Said
"Imaginative and fleet-of-foot production made this event a hugely engaging listen. Live ads, jingles and music together a stellar guest list and Danny Wallace’s enthusiastic presentation – he was clearly enjoying being liberated from the Breakfast Show studio – made it uniquely enjoyable for all involved; the production crew, the local audience and the listeners. And it was all in aid of Warchild

What the Judges Said
"Well targeted to their audience, this entry brilliantly captured the hysteria of a new Take That tour. It made the event sound like it was the biggest the north east had ever experienced.
Despite not having access to the actual performance audio, it felt like the radio station embraced the event wholeheartedly with creative concepts, great location reporting and wonderful audience reflection. Listening to their coverage you really knew that Take That had come to town and Real Radio made the most of this huge tour kicking off in their town. And who could forget details like 4 miles of hotdogs!

What the Judges Said
"The broadcast team brought wit, humour and a real audio picture of what was a rain-soaked game. The buggy trip, revealing interviews, and banter between the presenters made very enjoyable listening whilst the rain poured down. When play did start, their knowledge and infectious humour combined to bring the game alive for cricketing fans and non-fans alike.
